Happy Mothers Day! Saturday was fencing day with two gangs constructing away. The fencing around the Camping Coach is now complete bar the gates (which are under construction). To the rear of the station yard the pig wire fence protecting the vegetable patch from the sheep has been replaced with a diagonal paled fence. The old, short, substandard fence recovered from near the camping coach has been re-used here (including the nails!). A new gate has been made and hung near the compost heap to access the vegetable patch. We are awaiting some road kerbs to finish the back of the yard here. Watch this space.
Sunday began with the delivery by the PWay department of a wagon full of ash. This was emptied just north of the level crossing and spread on the site of the old hut. The wagon had to be emptied before the first passenger train and pushed, by hand, into the north siding. Once we had emptied it Community Payback then spread it around for us. Following a final finish by ourselves the whole area now looks much tidier.
Elsewhere the notice board team ably led by Tony 1 continue to roll out new noticeboards for Goathland and Levisham.
