A weekend when not much new seems to get done but a lot of work is undertaken. Trains were delayed on Saturday with the failure of a diesel just north of Levisham. Passengers were queuing up the platform for Weighbridge Teas who did a roaring trade. There is no truth in the rumour that they bribed the driver to fail so they could increase their sales! Meanwhile, back on the station, first up was the dismantling of the two marquees and putting them and all the equipment away. This process was not helped by rain wetting the main marquee on the Saturday afternoon when it was part dismantled so it had to be re-erected for the night whilst it dried out before trying again on Sunday. Sunday was also the day the Womble fire crew were requested to deal with a pair of fires near Yorsfalls. They were only small ones and did not require the presence of the fire brigade.
Elsewhere the jumbo (triple) sized poster board has been delivered by Tonys 1 and 2 to Goathland whilst Ben has continued grinding off the rust from the lowmac and applying metal primer.
