5th September 2010

Another dry weekend so it’s on with the painting. The NER van is now all in topcoat and is even partly lettered – is anyone a signwriter, as there is a lot to do!? The VEA doors have been re covered with new ply on the yard side to give us a few more years use before they need replacing. That side has now been repainted and very smart it looks. The shock van and shock open now sport the correct pattern white strips – long and thin for early BR and short and fat for late BR era. Thanks to Alexa, Geoff, Michael for the painting.
Brian and Stephen have constructed the lean-to to house the marquee short poles on the paddock. North of the level crossing the lineside has been tidied up and strimmed giving a much neater appearance. A new set of shelves have been made to support the selection of spanner boxes we have, a further stage of tidying up our workshop. Tony 1 has continued repairing and painting the double notice board.
David & Richard gardening-will the weeding never end!
The various handrails and deck boards for the yard point levers have now been fixed in place by Brian.
